Carving of the Menorah

In the dust covering the bottom of a drainage ditch near the Western Wall, something amazing was uncovered. A stone tool was found, with a carving of the Menorah. This is very significant, because it provides a hint as to what the base of the Menorah looked like. It may be that a visitor to Jerusalem was astounded by the beauty of the Menorah. Inspired, he carved what it looked like. After some time, without a second thought, he threw away his simple creation, not realizing how important it would be to someone 2000 years later…
