Mount Zion

A tour in mount zion in the place where the Jewish community first began to sprout from the ashes after the destruction of the Second Temple. We wiil visit the first synagogue that was in jerusalem few years after the destrucction. We will visit the tomb of King David.

We will hear the story of friction that developed between the Jewish and Christian community over the ownership of the land of Mount Zion, and how that tension affected Italian Jews on their way to the land of Israel.

We will tell the story of the capture of the mountain during the War of Independence in 1948.

We will go to the lookout on the roof of David’s Tomb, from where the Jews would see from afar the Temple Mount during the festivals, until the reunification of the city during the Six Day War.

We will also visit the first Holocaust memorial that was established in Israel.
